Tuesday, November 3, 2026 is Voting Day in Vermont. Polls in Bethel will be open from 8am to 7pm, at the Bethel School Campus. We will be holding a bond vote to build a new Town Garage.

Our current Town Garage was built in 1974, and has outlived its useful life. The budget for the new garage is $3.5 million. This will be a 30 year note at +/- 4.23% interest via the Vermont Bond Bank. This number may be reduced by use of capital funds & other savings.

How will this affect your tax bill?

A home valued at $350,000 will pay $218 per year, or 60₡ per day.  A home valued at $375,000 will pay $234 per year, or 64₡ per day.

Please come to the Bond Informational on October 26 at 6pm at the Town Hall as part of a Selectboard meeting, to understand the financial plans to deal with the bond payment added to our budget. We do have existing bonds being paid off in 2028, two in 2030 and another in 2031.
