Bethel's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) assesses the potential impact of hazards, identifies community assets and vulnerabilities, and develops mitigation strategies. The LHMP must be updated every 5 years. Having a current LHMP helps the town access FEMA and State funding to mitigate hazards and recover from disasters. Emergency Management requires preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. Hazard Mitigation is any sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to life and property from hazards. 

We are asking for the communities input, by participating in a short survey.

This is the 12/18/2025 draft of possible parking changes on Main Street. Another update of this map will be available in the next two weeks, showing the addition of five more parking spots. More data will be released as it is received by the engineer.
