Life Guard Training Sessions Available

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSES If you, or someone you know, is interested in taking the American Red Cross Lifeguard Course here are two places relatively close to Bethel that are offering the certification: Upper Valley Aquatics Center in White River Junction March 20-22 April 10-12 May 15-17 June 5-7 There is a 9-hour online course sent to those who register one week prior to the in-pool portion of the certification. You must 15 years old or older to register. To qualify for the in-pool portion of the class you must be able to swim 150 yards straight into a 2-minute treading of water (hands out of the water), immediately into a 50-yard swim, then a timed drill diving with a weighted brick. Lifeguard fee is $370. There will be a minimum number of registered applicants required to have the course. CCBA in Lebanon April 22-26 May 27-31 Similar prerequisites as UVAC. Class fee is $250. Minimum of 5 to run course. If you are interested, you are encouraged to sign up soon. There may be other pools in Vermont that offer American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, but these are the two facilities that are known of. Lifeguards who have worked at the Bethel Pool in the past have traveled out of state to take courses that fit better into their schedules-Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.
