 Burn Permit

Burning Permits are required.  Contact the following Fire Department Member:

 Coin Drop Application and Rules

Coin drop applications need to be completed fully and submitted with a proof of insurance. All rules are listed on the application and accompanying safety document.

Once complete, please submit to the Town Office at 134 South Main Street. It will be put as an agenda item on a future Selectboard meeting.

 Dog License

Dog Licenses are available through the Town Clerk and are due annually by April 1st.  After April 1st, an additional fee is charged.  Rabies shots must be kept up to date (every 36 months) and a certificate left with the Town Clerk.  The Town Clerk, Pam Brown, can be reached at (802) 234-9722 or betheltownclerk@comcast.net.

 Motor Vehicle Excess Weight Permits

Fleet Excess Weight Permit Please include $10 application fee and certificate of insurance listing the Town of Bethel as additional insured.
Single Vehicle Excess Weight Permit Please include $5 application fee and certificate of insurance listing the Town of Bethel as additional insured.

 Zoning & Subdivision

Subdivision of land, construction, reconstruction, conversion, structural alterations, relocations, and enlargements require permits.

The RBES was enacted into law in 1997 (30 V.S.A. § 5.1). It is the energy code for all residential buildings and residential building three stories or less above grade. The Vermont energy code reflects standards published by the International Energy Code Council (IECC).

The CBES was enacted into law in 2006 (30 V.S.A. § 53).  It is the energy code for all commercial buildings and residential building four stories or greater above grade in Vermont and took effect January 1, 2007.
